TMR Division Kannur located at Dharmasala in Kannur District is headed by the Executive Engineer under the administrative control of the Deputy Chief Engineer, Electrical Circle Kannur under Distribution North Malabar region. The Division was formed by bifurcating Shornur TMR Division on 17.08.2011. There are 3 subdivisions and TMR stores under the TMR division Shornur namely Transformer Maintenance Subdivision, Meter testing Subdivision, and HT Meter Testing Subdivision and Store. The new building for TMR Division Kannur was inaugurated on 09.05.2023 and has started functioning.
The meter testing laboratory was NABL accredited on 19.09.2019.
Outdoor High tension meter testing under the Division has been stationed at Kozhikode for convenience. 
The transformer workshop has a fully equipped transformer routine testing facility with a high-voltage test setup. The workshop has braising and gas welding facility. An oil filtering unit with a 1000 lph capacity and with an oil storage capacity of more than 10000 liters has been established. The high-pressure cleaning system has also available at the unit. Winding machines of HT, as well as LT coils, are installed at the facility.
