Thottiyar HEP

Background:

Thottiyar Hydro Electric Project is a hydel scheme in the river Thottiyar (Deviyar) a tributary of river Periyar in Idukki district, Kerala State.  The Project when completed (First Stage) will add an installed capacity of 40MW to the state grid. 

Project Approval:

KSEBL accorded Revised Administrative Sanction on 19.11.2016 for Rs. 280 Crore at 2014 DSR with cost index 2015.

Contract for the Work:

The Original contract dated 22.12.2008 with M/s CPPL-Chongquing Joint Venture was foreclosed on 28.04.2017 due to slow progress. By then overall progress achieved was 33.80 %.

Contract for the balance Civil Work:

Balance Civil work was awarded to M/s. PRIL- SSIPL Consortium and agreement executed on 05.04.2018.

Agreed PAC -   Rs. 97.76 Cr.

Actual date of commencement – 09.04.2018

Official date of completion     -   03.04.2020

Progress achieved- 91.50%

Contract for the balance E&M Work:

E&M work awarded to M/s. Fitwell Constructions and agreement executed on 29.03.2021.

Agreed PAC  Rs.6.79 Cr.

Actual date of Commencement – 10.07.2020

Official Date of Completion -10.04.2021

Progress achieved- 75%

Expected Completion of Project: 15.11.2023(1st Machine)
