OLIKKAL SHEP

Background:

The Olikkal Small Hydro Electric Project with an installed capacity 5MW is located in Thiruvambady Village, Thiruvambady Panchayath of Thamarassery Taluk in Kozhikode district. The scheme aims at generating 10.26Mu of energy on an average annual basis utilizing the inflow of Poyilingapuzha, a tributory of Iruvanjipuzha river in Chaliyar basin.   This is a run-ff the river scheme planned by utilizing the inflow of water as and when the rain is occurring. The tail race water from this scheme is proposed to be discharged directly to Urumi-I, the existing Small Hydro Power Project in the downstream area. The power generated from this project is proposed to be fed to the nearest 33kV Substation at Thambalamanna.

Project Approval:

KSEBL accorded Revised Administrative Sanction for Olikkal & Poovaramthodu SHEPs (combined) on 13.03.2020 for Rs.107.643 Cr. at DSR 2016 Price Level.

Contract for the Civil Work:

Civil work awarded to M/s Poulose George Construction Company Pvt. Ltd., Engineers & Contractors and agreement executed on 01.09.2022.

Agreed PAC -   Rs.24.76 Cr.

Actual date of commencement – 19.09.2022.

Official date of completion     -   01.07.2025

Progress achieved: 22.30%

Contract for the E&M Work:

E&M work awarded to M/s Kirloskar Brothers Pvt.Ltd., Mahrashtra and agreement executed on 27.06.2023.

Agreed PAC- Rs.17.79 Cr.

Expected Completion of Project: 01.07.2025.
