Peruvannamuzhy SHEP
Background:
The Peruvannamuzhy Small Hydro Electric Project is the tenth venture of electricity generating station in Kozhikode District. This project with a capacity of 6 MW is located in Chakkittappara village of Koyilandy Taluk in Kozhikode District. This project is designed to use the surplus water from the Peruvannamuzhy reservoir of the existing Kuttyadi Irrigation Scheme for irrigation and drinking purposes. During summer period this generating station can be operated as a peaking station by utilizing the summer flow and the tailrace discharge of schemes in Kakkayam Power Houses, which is part of Kuttyadi Hydro Electric Project and Kuttyadi Augmentation Project after fulfilling the demand for irrigation and drinking water supply. An average of 802.67 Mm3 of water reaches Peruvannamuzhy reservoir in a year. It is aimed to generate 24.70 Million units of electricity per year by using the surplus water of 623.84 Mm3 after the irrigation and drinking water needs.
Project Approval:
KSEBL accorded Revised Administrative Sanction on 18.05.2015 for Rs. 77.53 Crores at 2014 price level.
Contract for the Civil Work:
Civil construction work awarded to M/s TVPPL – KSK-SSEV Pvt. Ltd. Consortium and agreement executed on 25.05.2018.
Agreed PAC - Rs.49.02 Cr.
Actual date of commencement - 25.05.2018
Official date of completion - 07.05.2021
Contract for the E&M Work:
E&M work awarded to M/s Kirloskar Brothers Pvt.Ltd., Mahrashtra and agreement executed on 08.02.2021.

Actual date of Commencement - 16.12.2021
Official Date of Completion -10. 08.2022
The project was completed on 15.08.2023 and started generation.
