Do's and Don'ts
DO'S
- Do...Use only electrical gadgets with ISI mark and carry out all electrical works by certified electricians.
- Do... Inspect electrical wiring regularly and renew deteriorated wiring.
- Do...If any snapped electricity conductors are noticed, inform the nearest Electrical Section Office or the Emergency Number and do not touch or go near them.
- Do...Watch your children while they are playing with kites near any electric overhead lines.
- Do.... General public/ Temple authorities in charge of conducting such festivals to inform the electrical section offices of KSEBL so as to enable them to switch off the power lines crossing and or passing by the route of festival procession in order to avoid the accidents.
- Do...While digging the ground for other works, care should be taken while working near underground electric cables.
- Do...Earth leakage protection device is to be provided in all electrical installations.
DON'TS
- Don't...Hanging wet clothes on electric wires will prove fatal.
- Don't... Go near or touch the electric poles, stay wires, fencing etc., during rainy seasons.
- Don't...Use electric poles as support to Pandals or displaying advertisement Board.
- Don't...Secure Poultries/Domestic animals to the electric poles or the stay wires.
- Don't...Construct buildings near electric lines, consult the Electricity Board officials before planning for the same.
- Don't...Park lorries near Transformer structure or Over head electric line and carry out loading and unloading of materials.
- Don't...Drive vehicles, carry ladders etc., which are of greater height beneath the electric lines.
- Don't...Electrification of fencing should not be done which can lead to loss of lives. Doing so is punishable with imprisonment.
- Don't...Carry unauthorized electrical works in a substandard manner to reduce cost and do not extend un-authorisedly to other buildings.
- Don't...Cut or damage the stays provided for your convenience.
