Brief History:
The Kakkayam Small Hydro Electric Project is for utilizing the tail water available after power generation in KuttiadyAdditional Extension Scheme (KAES 2x50MW) with an installed capacity of 3 MW (2 X 1.5) and the project was commissioned in 2018.
The project is situated near the Kuttiyadi Hydro Electric project Kakkayam in Kozhikode District.The designed head is18.36m hence Horizontal Kaplan Turbine is installed.
