The transformer and Meter Repairing unit located at Thirumala a suburb of Thiruvananthapuram City was established before 1976 and is attached to Electrical Circle Thiruvananthapuram and also comes under the direct control of Chief Engineer Distribution South and Chief Engineer (SCM).

The indoor meter testing laboratory is NABL accredited, since March 2021 and has a fully automated meter test bench of M/s Zera make (20 position single phase and 10 position 3 phase meter) commissioned in the year 2018.

At Thirumala TMR Division there are two outdoor meter testing units. One unit has a jurisdictional area of Electrical Circle Urban, Kottarakara, and Pathanamthitta division whereas the other unit's jurisdiction extends from Electrical Circle Thiruvananthapuram Rural, Kollam, and Adoor Division.

The Transformer workshop houses routine testing facilities, a high-voltage testing setup, and a coil winding facility.
