Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)

Pilot project 10MW/20MWH- Life 12yrs: Bid opened on 18/7/22 and VGF requested to Mop.
BESS is a requirement in long-range resource planning under high variable renewable energy scenarios. It provides fast responding, high quality energy services for ancillary operations. The pilot 10MW/20MWH has L1 discovered tariff for storage as Rs.11,20,141/MW/Month exclude GST (Rs.10.87/unit Exclude GST). BESS projects will be a requirement for managing exponentially growing mobility with intermittent renewables like Rooftop Solar. A pilot project is expected to give hands-on experience on methodologies to integrate dispersed storage systems to KSEBL grid. It may be noted that BESS will be required in the public transport sector to manage uninterrupted charging of groups of eBuses overnight and for opportunity charging in Transport Depot.
