As per section 203 of the Companies Act 2013 and Rule 8 of the Companies (Appointment and Remuneration of Managerial Personnel) Rules,2014,every public Company having a paid up capital of ₹10 crore or more has to mandatorily appoint a Company Secretary who is the member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. As KSEBL falls within the aforesaid statutory limits, the Government vide G.O.(Ms)No.20/2015/PD dated, Thiruvananthapuram, 08.06.02015 created the Post of Company Secretary and Assistant Company Secretary in KSEBL and vide B.O.(FTD) No.3230/2015 (Estt.III/9395/2008) Dated,Thiruvananthapuram,26.12.2015.Accordingly, the office of Company Secretary started functioning as a separate department under the administrative control of Director(Finance). After the adoption of Rules of Business vide B.O (DB) No.731/2021 dated 05.10.2021 the Administrative control is with Chairman & Managing Director.
